Privacy Statement

The thematic areas for this year’s conference align with the High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE) conceptual framework of food systems for diets and nutrition. The thematic areas map to the different elements of food systems, i.e.  food supply chains, food environments and consumer behavior, which are influenced by drivers, shape diets and determine the final nutrition, health, economic and social outcomes of food systems.

CONFERENCE THEMATIC AREAS

Given the theme of “connecting the dots across systems,” abstracts that intersect multiple thematic areas are encouraged. Such abstracts will be given priority consideration for inclusion in the conference program. Please see the conference thematic areas below:

Examples of abstract topics relevant to the theme of connecting the dots across systems for nutrition (not an exhaustive list)

  • Relationship Between Household Water Access and Dietary Diversity (Themes covered: WASH and diets)
  • Data-driven tool for maternal and child nutrition program monitoring (Themes covered: Digital innovation and health systems)
  • Effects of a diet tracking app on dietary practices in urban and peri-urban areas (Themes covered: Digital innovation and diets)
  • Does Front-Of-Pack Labelling Even Matter? Using labels as a communication tool for better nutrition and behavior change. (Themes covered: Markets, food environment, and value chain and BCC)
  • A qualitative inquiry of the role of wild food environments and its impact on intake of micronutrient rich foods among community forestry rural communities. (Themes covered: Food environment, diets, climate change)

ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES AND REGIONAL FOCUS FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS

Abstract submissions should focus on any of the eight SAARC countries in South Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Submissions can represent either a single-country study, a multi-country study, or a regional study on South Asia. Please note that we welcome multi-country studies; however, at least one of the eight eligible countries in South Asia must be included as one of the focuses. For example, a relevant submission comparing Myanmar and Bangladesh would be accepted since Bangladesh is one of the eligible countries in South Asia.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

How to submit your abstract:

  1. Select the relevant abstract form:
    1. Research study
    2. Implementation experience
  2. Complete all required questions on the Microsoft Form and submit your response once you complete the entire form.

NOTE: Multiple abstract submissions are allowed; however, each abstract submission requires completing a separate form.

Abstract submission deadline: Friday, August 16, 2024 at Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) 23:59.
