In September 2025, protests in Kathmandu over a social media ban turned violent.

The Conference Secretariat is monitoring the situation closely with our in-country co-hosts and other credible sources. The conference remains scheduled for Kathmandu, but if the security situation deteriorates, we still anticipate that the conference will take place in South Asia.
