Delivering for Nutrition in South Asia: Towards Impact at Scale – Call for Abstracts

DELIVERING FOR NUTRITION IN SOUTH ASIA: TOWARDS IMPACT AT SCALE – CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

This page provides abstract submission guidance for this year’s conference and resources on preparing an effective abstract.

To submit your abstract, please use the research or implementation abstract form linked in the yellow box on this page. Abstract submissions will only be accepted through the official form. Each form represents one submission.

We invite abstract submissions under the following categories:

1) Research studies: Focused on the generation of new knowledge using rigorous study designs and applying quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods;

2) Implementation experiences: Focused on the implementation of interventions or programs

This conference will prioritize solutions to improve nutrition outcomes at scale. The focus will be on interventions, policies, and programs that are at different stages on the pathway to scaling impact:

  • Operational at scale, demonstrating measurable outcomes/impacts and sustainability;
  • Not scaled yet but have a roadmap showing potential for scaling;
  • Generating data and insights on implementation and adaptations to inform scaling and impact in real-world settings;
  • Leveraging policy to drive transformative change in diets and nutrition outcomes at scale in diverse systems.

Emphasizing a multi-sectoral and systems approach, the conference will feature research and dialogue to enhance the reach and effectiveness of nutrition interventions.

The topical areas below recognize that diverse systems must be leveraged to deliver actions for nutrition impact at scale. Building on the Nutrition for Growth Summit, D4N2025 will focus both on major systems/sectors and on areas that need attention to strengthen nutrition impact at scale. We include below examples of solutions that pertain to these systems.

*This is a guide for identifying eligible topics; this list of examples is not exhaustive. If you have questions about the eligibility of your topic, feel free to email the conference organizers at IFPRI-D4N-CONF@cgiar.org.

Actions that are designed to achieve nutrition impacts at scale often include actions with evidence of impact that are potentially scalable, that are assessed for their scalability (feasibility in terms of cost, resources, etc.), have a plan for scalability, are delivered at geographic scale (state, sub-regional, regional, national, global).

Examples of abstract topics relevant to the conference theme of “toward impact at scale” are shown in the table below. We also provide examples of abstract topics that are NOT relevant to the theme.

Abstract submissions should focus on any of the eight SAARC countries in South Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and/or Sri Lanka. Submissions can represent either a single-country study, a multi-country study, or a regional study on South Asia. Please note that we welcome multi-country studies; however, at least one of the eight eligible countries in South Asia must be included as a focus. For example, a relevant submission comparing Myanmar and Bangladesh would be accepted since Bangladesh is one of the eligible countries in South Asia.

Abstracts will be assessed based on:

  • Relevance to the overall event theme and/or any of its related key topical area(s)
  • Practical application and potential policy implications
  • Clarity and completeness of abstract
  • The extent to which the submitter followed instructions

The review committee expects to provide abstract decisions via e-mail in late September 2025, allowing sufficient time for individuals interested in attending the conference in person to make necessary arrangements.

Please contact IFPRI-D4N-CONF@cgiar.org if you have any questions.
