About the workshop

The SAARC Agriculture Centre (SAC), in collaboration with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI)-South Asia, and the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), organized a three-day ‘Training and Validation Workshop on Modules of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) Technologies in South Asia’. The event saw the participation of 22 scientists, researchers, extension workers, and policymakers from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, was held from April 22 to 24, 2024, at BRAC CDM in Gazipur, Bangladesh.

The workshop was used as a platform to present a series of CSA training modules for farmers and extension workers. The experts, delegates, and participants shared comprehensive feedback after intensive discussions to contribute towards the fine-tuning and validation of the modules. These modules will play a crucial role in building the capacity of farmers, researchers, extension workers. They will also enhance the capacity of the SAARC member states responsible for scaling up CSA technologies in respective countries and promote regional cooperation through the exchange of knowledge and experiences among the participants from member states.
