Delivering for Nutrition in India: Insights from Implementation Research

DELIVERING FOR NUTRITION IN INDIA: INSIGHTS FROM IMPLEMENTATION RESEARCH

by IFPRI South Asia | September 3, 2020

The third India-focused implementation research conference on “Delivering for Nutrition in India: Insights from Implementation Research”  will be held from September 15-18, 2020. This virtual event is co-hosted by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), along with NITI Aayog, premier policy think-tank of the Government of India, National Institute of Nutrition, and several other partners.

Coinciding with the national nutrition month, this event will convene academics, implementers, development partners, and policy makers from multiple institutes on a common platform. Through an open call, we have received abstracts on research studies and implementation programs focused on the core pillars of POSHAN Abhiyaan, India’s National Nutrition Mission, and platforms supporting actions for nutrition. These selected studies and programs look at specific interventions, such as food supplementation, growth monitoring and micronutrient supplementation. An important consideration is the impact of crisis situations, like COVID-19 pandemic, on nutrition interventions and programming.

At this event, along with abstract-based thematic sessions and plenary talks by global nutrition experts, there will be pre-conference learning workshops, prior to the conference itself. The key purpose of these pre-conference workshops will be to promote learning and capacity building around implementation research. Due to the interactive nature of these workshops, there will be limited spots available. Selection will be on a first-come first-served basis.
