Co-Organized by International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) South Asia, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences (TAAS)
JULY 6, 2020 - 04:30 PM TO 06:00 PM IST
IFPRI’s 2020 Global Food Policy Report (GFPR) was officially launched on April 07 and highlights the critical role that inclusive food systems can play, looking specifically at the obstacles and opportunities as well as the tools and technologies for building inclusive food systems.
COVID-19 is having an immense impact on our health and food systems on a global scale. In South Asia, the pandemic has triggered the largest disruption of livelihoods in human history, affecting over 1.7 billion people. The disruptions to supply chains, lack of access to health and nutrition services, and overwhelmed social protection system have led to increased food and nutrition insecurity in the region. Consequently, the awareness and need to work towards inclusive food systems have been amplified for all countries in the region.
In collaboration with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences (TAAS), IFPRI South Asis is hosting a virtual launch on July 6 from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm IST to present the highlights of the report in South Asian context. The policy makers and thought leaders will share their perspectives in light of the COVID-19’s impacts on our food systems. To view the agenda and to read more details please visit ifpri.org website here.
