International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI),South Asia is curating a special series of blog posts analyzing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the sub-national, national, and regional food and nutrition security, poverty, and development. Produced in collaboration with ReSAKSS-Asia, this special blogs series is in continuation of our global efforts with a special attention to the South Asia region.
It will provide a platform for the researchers, policy makers, and civil society leaders to share their insights and analysis of the impacts and policy responses to COVID-19 pandemic at the national and regional levels. The first edition of the IFPRI South Asia & ReSAKSS-Asia: Special Edition Newsletter COVID-19 has been published on May 26, 2020.
In this edition read blog post highlighting the impact of COVID-19 in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India on food and nutrition security. Some of the blogs discusses the diets of rural poor, how health and nutrition programs should be protected amidst COVID-19 pandemic, food system risks in India and given the pandemic frame of reference how Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) need to be revamped to realize their potentials.
