About the Lecture

Overview: The Institute of Nutrition of Central America and Panama (INCAP) Longitudinal Study was carried out in Guatemala from 1969 to 1977 and was a village-randomized nutrition intervention trial that yielded important results about impact on child growth and development. Many follow-up studies have been carried out. One is currently underway, and these have traced the long-term impact of the intervention on a wide array of outcomes, including human capital and adult health. This lecture will review the major contributions to nutrition knowledge and policy from these studies.
