We are pleased to release the fifth issue of our bi-monthly abstract digest, featuring two special, open-access supplements, a series of thought-provoking commentaries published by Economic and Political Weekly and papers relating to maternal and child nutrition in India and throughout the world.
One of the featured open-access supplements, a special issue of the Food and Nutrition Bulletin, focuses on designing large-scale programs to improve infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices in Asia and Africa with methods and lessons from Alive and Thrive.
This issue also highlights findings from studies examining infant feeding and school attainment, the co-administration of folic acid tablets and vitamin B12 and its implications for the incidence of persistent diarrhea in children and critical socio-economic factors in obtaining full immunization coverage in India.
We would also like to announce a call for papers on implementation research from the Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition. The editorial board plans to launch the Third Global Symposium on Health Systems Research in South Africa in September 2014.
